Testing World's First Carbon Fiber Hulled Submarine to 13,123 Feet
OceanGate's Titan Submersible Engineering Tests in Bahamas. OceanGate's WebsiteTitanic Survey Expedition WebsiteOceanGate contacted Francis to assist in a diver support role for their engineering validation tests to take place in the Bahamas, off of the coast of Great Abaco. We did several tests off a large support vessel using a 1200 lb rated mono-filament tuna fishing line connected to the submarine via a large hydraulic winch. We did an initial test to 1500 meters, then 2500 meters and finally to 4000 meters.
